PROBE for Public Service Providers

PROBE Best Practice Benchmarking has been successfully used by many providers of Public Services, including organisations of the following types:

Using PROBE was an excellent way of bringing together different members of our department to look at how we work together and provide service to our customers. Not only has it had a useful outcome but those taking part found it helped them step back from their day to day work and focus on the wider picture.

  • public utility
  • health service provider
  • educational provider
  • membership organisations
  • public administration
  • voluntary organisation
  • local council

Many of these organisations have effectively used the same version of PROBE as is used by private sector service providers — PROBE for Services. However, it can be beneficial to customise the benchmarking service so that it is more readily accessible and applicable within particular Public and Not-for-profit settings. This enables us to 'speak the language' of the particular setting, lowering barriers to understanding and engagement for staff participating in the benchmarking process; and to ensure that issues specific to the setting are fully integrated into the process.

Working closely with change agencies in the relevant sectors, Comparison International has developed several customised tools:

  • PROBE for Public Service
  • PROBE for Learning Providers
  • PROBE for Healthcare

Public Service Provider
Local council, public utility, membership organisation, public administration, other public service

Healthcare Provider

PROBE Best Practice Benchmarking services can be customised for other types of organisation and for other sectoral or special purpose needs. To discuss your needs please contact us.
